About Kayla

Kayla has loved the arts for as long as she can remember, exploring everything from drawing and dancing to singing, acting, and writing. After earning her bachelor’s degree in Fine Art from the University of Maryland, she built a successful career as a creative director. Along the way, she taught herself to animate and became one of Los Angeles’s pioneering augmented reality artists.

In January 2024, Kayla embarked on a new creative adventure that would weave together all her artistic passions into one visionary project—Rosie & Raven, an augmented reality children’s book designed to awaken wonder and reignite a love of reading. Shortly after its debut, the book earned a Moonbeam Children’s Book Award and was named one of Oprah’s Favorite Things 2025. 

Excavating hidden talents buried deep within, Kayla wrote, illustrated, animated and sang this book into existence. With this innovative approach to storytelling, she hopes to inspire tech-savvy kids to connect with themselves more deeply and to remind parents that magic is real.
